In 1978 I borrowed a Hasselblad camera and set out to do some street shooting on Chicago’s State Street. After processing the Tri-X film of this Street Smoking Man, I was dismayed because of the under exposure of the negative. No amount of darkroom magic could give an acceptable print. Fast forward 38 years and with the help of some Photoshop processing, Voilà, a beautiful tone image and some spot color added for good measure.
